Ares Connect: A Small Utility With A Big Heart
If you are yet to come across the application called Ares Connect, then it’s entirely probable that you are missing a trick. Certainly, if you enjoy file sharing with the Ares network then you are going to need this cool little tool sooner rather than later.
The Ares file sharing system has been going strong for a number of years, and in this time as gained not an unsubstantial following. And the adoration from its fans is entirely justified: this is pretty much the best way to share music.
Unfortunately, the popularity of Ares has caught up with it, and people are starting to struggle to connect to the network. This manifests itself intermittently, with either a short delay, and sometimes one lasting several hours. File sharers are not the most patient people, and this kind of uncertainty can lead to a little bit of tenseness and stress.
The situation can be help by downloading one of the newer clients, like Ares Vista, from the official Ares site. While this does help – and in fact these clients are just better than many of the older, ‘traditional’ versions of the software – it doesn’t solve the problem entirely.
Like many people started to find that the only way around this particular problem is to use a little utility called Ares Connect. Ares Connect performs some technical wizardry inside the workings of your Ares client (don’t ask us what, because we don’t know!) that enables it to connect instantly every single time. We tried it with four different clients, and it worked perfectly on each.
